The Times of Northwest Indiana, Munster A few years ago The Times created an entire Saturday go-and-do section focused around the typical Saturday activities of shopping, chores, trips and entertainment. Everything about the section is designed to help readers get the most out of their Saturday with the least amount of effort.
Utility information begins on the cover with a "Best Bets" list that includes all the necessary information on times, ticket prices and telephone numbers and a Saturday craft project illustrated in an easy-to-follow step-by-step diagram.
Take One | Two | Three | Four Short outings are given the full treatment in the One-Tank Trip feature. Accompanying the basic story are boxes on "what to bring," what adults will like, what kids will like, what not to miss, detailed driving directions, hours, prices and more.
Dinner and a movie is a common Saturday activity, but pairing the two is often a trial. The Times makes it easy with two boxes that flank the main movie review feature: one contains mini reviews of current movies including a list of the theaters at which they are playing, the other has mini reviews of restaurants, including hours and icons indicating basic information, including whether they take reservations, if children are welcome, are they handicapped accessible.
] If dinner and a movie are top Saturday activity, dinner and a video can't be far behind. Again, The Times provides lots of go-and-do information: a featured review of a "Video Pick," mini reviews of a number of other videos, and a recipe for dinner, including breakout boxes for an ingredients shopping list and necessary kitchen staples.
