When weary of being merry, there's always Facebook

Being bored by visiting relatives, tardiness in sending holiday greetings and bad weather may all have contributed to Facebook seeing its highest traffic stats ever on Christmas Eve, suggests Heather Hopkins of Hitwise. Of all U.S. Internet visits logged that day, 2.18 percent were to Facebook pages. Bad weather in some of its hottest U.S. markets might have kept people indoors, but in the United Kingdom, numbers were even higher, with Facebook visits accounting for 4.65 percent of all traffic there.
